Mad's Big Weekend - Part 2

"Mom, it is really hard to be beautiful!" This is a quote from Madison. I tried not to laugh when she said it. Saturday morning we met all the girls to get hair done. Madison was a trooper sitting still so long for them to do her hair. She looked so cute with all the curls! Anyway, after her hair was done, she and I and Aunt D went for lunch before meeting to get ready for pictures. After lunch I noticed the back of her hair had almost no curls left in it. We still had an hour and a half before pictures and almost 4 hours before the wedding. Thankfully, Saranac has two hair salons so DeAnn went to one and Madison and I to the other. We were able to get in right away to one, so they fixed her curls and we bought some outrageously expensive hairspray. "Do" number two, but the curls stayed in for the rest of the day, so it was worth it. Well, after leaving there we headed to the park for pictures. On the way, I made Madison lean forward so as not to crush her curls. That is when she made the comment about being beautiful. Here are some pictures of her getting ready.

Mad's Big Weekend - Part 1

Last weekend Madison was in my cousin Shawna's wedding. She was one of two flower girls. She did great. Here are some pictures from the rehearsal. The actual wedding pictures will come later.
Practicing walking slowly down the isle.
She loved the Hannah Montana hat that she received in her bag of goodies from Shawna.
Rehearsal dinner. Can you tell she likes ribs? So un-flower girl like!
The ladies in the wedding. Madison had so much fun with the "big girls".
Madison and Shawna. I love this picture!

Mackenzie @ Fort

Here a some fun Mackenzie pictures from our week at Fort Wilderness.

Mackenzie and Madison's friend Maggie.
Funny Faces!
Mackenzie loved the horse trough and would always put her hands in the water.
Mackenzie and her friend Daniel. Will you look at her hand! I think we will have to have a talk with her.
Mackenzie got in trouble and would not apologize to Mrs. Casali. After a time out and then a spanking she still would not do it. Can you say stubborn? Anyway, Mrs. Casali took her for a little walk and they had a talk.
Mackenzie and Miss Joy. When I was pregnant with Mackenzie we went camping with Joy and her family. It was after that week that we decided to use her name for Mackenzie middle name. Three months later we had Mackenzie Joy Kist. Penny the horse would go around camp in the afternoons and give people rides. Here is Mackenzie riding with Maggie's cousin Alex.
Isn't she cute!

Fun with Saran Wrap

One day on Greg's way home from work a few years ago he saw that some of the neighborhood kids had Saran wrapped another kid to a tree. He laughed so had he had a hard time even telling me about it. The kids was a few feet off the ground stuck to the tree. Well, while at Fort the story was told and they decided it would be fun to do. Ben Bruce volunteered so Greg ran to the kitchen to get the cling wrap. Ben stood on a couple of crates until it was done then the guys took them out from under him. Below shows the progression.

As you can see the kids thought it was a riot!

Happy Birthday Kennedy

Happy Birthday KiKi! I can't believe that she is 9 years old already. Since our summer is so busy we had Kennedy's birthday party on her actual birthday. She wanted to take a few friends and go to Libby Lu to do the "glam" thing. Here are some cute pictures from our day.

Each of the girls had their hair, nails and make up done. They each got to choose an accessory too. Kennedy chose the tiara.
Madison thought it was awesome to be one of the big girls today. This was so up her alley. Boy did she know how to strike a pose! I am sure one of her next birthday's she will want to go to Libby Lu also. The whole gang. Left to Right. Ella, Nicole, Kennedy, Madison, Kate and Fiona. Ella and Nicole are friends from church, Kate lives across the street and Fiona is a friend from school. When they had all finished their make overs they each made their own goodie bag. Some made bath products and some did the mani/pedi set. They loved getting to make the lotions and body splashes.
After getting all done up we went to Rainforest Cafe for lunch. The girls all loved it! It sure was fun watching Kennedy laugh and have a good time with her friends all day.
The party ended at Cold Stone Creamery with some yummy ice cream. Since KiKi doesn't like cake that much she wanted to go out for ice cream. Mackenzie spent the day with Gramma and Papa, but they all joined us for ice cream.
Well, it was a long and busy day but it was a fun day. We finished our day off with Kennedy's favorite dinner, taco's, gifts from us and a nice walk around the neighborhood.

More Horse Fun

Madison, Mackenzie and a bunch of their friends from church that were also at camp with us were able to do a colt training class. They had so much fun learning how to brush a horse, feed it and lead it around. This colt, filly actually, did not have a name yet, so they also had fun thinking up names for her.

Wrangler Erin said that Mackenzie and her friend Becca were the youngest to actually participate in the class. Way to go girls!

Here are some of the girls friends that did the colt training class with them. From left to right is...
Daniel, Maggie, Madison, Jak and Benjamin. We are missing about four kids in this picture.

Horse Fun

The barn just might have been the biggest hit of the week. Three days that week they gave pony rides to those six and under. Both of the girls loved it. Kennedy took a class that was each morning that was a little over an hour. She had a pretty stubborn horse, but she did great! Kennedy's friend Alex took the class too, so that made it even more fun.

Water Fun

We arrived home late Friday night after our week at Fort Wilderness. As always it was a great family time. There were a few hot days so the girls had a great time at the beach. Kennedy is our dare devil and loves the rope swing and the raft with the high dive. Madison loved using her new skills and working on the strokes she has learned this summer at swim lessons. Mackenzie loved to walk in the water up to her ankles but no further. The second day she did go in up to her calf's and would squat down, but that was all. However, she did get braver when the Casali girls came down. She even let Megan take her into the deeper water.

Hope you enjoy our water fun pictures. I am sure there will be more to come from our trip.

Baby Fankie

We were in Michigan last week for Kennedy to go to Aunt D's camp. We drove in on Sunday and went straight to my brother's house for dinner with the whole family. The girls, well all of us really, we very excited to see baby Frankie. Yes, I know I misspelled her name on the title. Mackenzie can't say Frankie. It comes out Fankie with no "r". It is very cute. Anyway, they couldn't wait to get their hands on her. She was so good and patient with us while getting all the pictures. It was fun to have the four girls all together. It was so cute. Her hair has been falling out and when it comes in it has had some red to it. I am sure she will have red hair when it all comes in. So we had Kennedy with the dark brown hair, Madison with the light brown hair, Mackenzie with the blonde hair and now Frankie with the red starting to come in. One of each, how perfect!

By the time it came to Mackenzie getting a turn to hold her, Frankie had had enough and wanted to eat. Maybe next time, peanut.
