Field Day

Friday, Kennedy had field day at her school. We had lots of rain with some lightening, so most of the day was inside. The last hour or two we were able to go outside to do some things. Despite the rain, Kennedy had a good time.
Below is a picture of Kennedy with her teacher, Mrs. Pinta. She has been a wonderful teacher. I know the year would not have gone as well as it did without her. She is moving to first grade in the fall, so I am hoping that Madison can have her in another year. The teacher can certainly make or break the year.

The kids all received t-shirts with each grade getting a certain color. It was nice to be able to look for green and know if you had all of the kids or not. At one point when they were stuck inside they pulled out the markers and started signing each others shirts. Who would have known that would be so much fun.

Here is a picture of Kennedy coming down the left side of the slide. It is a steep slide anyway, but when it is wet from all the rain, you get going really fast. They all loved it!
I could do this all day!

Super Glue

There is never a dull moment in our house. It was Mackenzie's turn to shake things up last Friday. I should have been alerted to the fact that something was up when I had the chance to go to the bathroom by myself. I think I was out of sight for about 2 minutes, but that was more than enough time for that girl. I walked out of the bathroom to find that she had moved a chair over to a drawer and found the super glue. She then proceeded to smear it over the tops of her feet with her hands. As you know, the stuff dries instantly, so there was no wiping it off. Fortunately her fingers and toes were not glued together. I tried rubbing alcohol with no luck. She was screaming, it was past nap time, so I just put her in bed. When she got up I used nail polish remover and that did the trick. However, it only loosens it up, so I had to pull it off. That didn't feel the greatest so there were more tears. I then took her downstairs and showed her the glue and proceeded to basically say "NO GLUE" over and over. I think she got the message. Saturday however, she was into the matches. I saw her do it this time so I got them away from her right away. Same drawer though. I think I have to take everything out of it. She can get the child safety locks undone, so that won't help. I am sure I am just forgetting the other girls in their terrible two's, but I certainly don't remember them getting into as much. They never climbed on tables or counters. As I said, never a dull moment in this house.

Funny Faces

I just wanted to share this cute picture of Kennedy and Madison. The girls came home from a birthday party looking like this.

20 Laps

Yesterday, Madison participated in a trike-a-thon at her school. The money raised when to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Madison did a fantastic job getting donations and also people to sponsor her per lap. She did 20 laps, the limit the school placed, with a smile on her face the entire time! She alone raised a total of $730.00. Way to go Madison!

Maddie rode in honor of our friends daughter, Anna, who passed away from cancer almost 2 months ago. We made this shirt for her to wear during the trike-a-thon with Anna's picture on the back. Purple was Anna's favorite color so, of course, we had to use a purple shirt. She was so proud of her shirt and would tell anyone that asked who Anna was, that she is now in Heaven and about the trike-a-thon. I know she didn't fully understand what it was all about, but she would tell people that she was giving money to a hospital so that they could help kids that are very sick. We are so proud of her!

Half way through her laps she was able to switch "modes of transportation".

Pool Girls

The girls had a great time at Gramma and Papa's house in Florida. They love the water. They get in their swimsuits as soon as they get out of bed and they hardly come off during the day. Actually, Mackenzie prefers to swim naked as she prefers doing everything. In fact, right now she is wearing a t-shirt and nothing else.

Kennedy has always been a little fish and continues to work on her moves (and show off a little). She is getting to be a very good diver also!

Madison learned to love the water last summer and she gets better each time we go. She will now jump off in the deep end! Way to go Mad!

Mackenzie is getting more and more brave. Each time we visit she likes it a little more. Right now her favorite thing is to sit on the edge of the pool and put her feet in the water. The first time we went she would cry when we tried to hold her in the water. Now she will let us hold her and will even try to swim and float on her back.

And we're back

Wow! I just realized that it has been about a month since I last updated this. Well, it is certainly not for lack of things to write. Where do I begin? Well, a brief overview. The past few weeks has taken us to Michigan to see my niece, Florida to Disney, Greg's folks and visiting friends and then back home to deal with ear infections, pink eye and vision problems. As I said, a lot has been happening.

Florida was great! We had wonderful weather and lots of "down time". The down time was while we were at Greg's parents house, NOT at Disney. We spent the first two days of our trip at Disney. They girls had a great time, especially the second day when we were there with friends from our church. Let me tell you, Kennedy has become a dare devil! She went on every roller coaster at least once! The big ones that I refuse to go on she absolutely loved. Greg was loving taking her on all of them. She even had the nerve to say that the Tower of Terror was BORING!
Well, that is all for today. I will try to update again soon with more fun pictures of our time in the sun.
