Day 2

Greg's cousin's wedding was our excuse to go to California. Thanks Sara! While the sun was not out much that day it did come out a little during the ceremony. Before the wedding we were able to spend some time with Greg's parents and his Grandma. The view below is from the porch of their hotel room. Across the street is a great park and the ocean. It is also where we saw all the seals.

This is the view from the park where Sara and Michael were married. As you can see the sun peaked out for a little while.

Calafornia Day 1

The first full day of our trip to California we started out in Santa Ana on a whale and dolphin watching boat. The day before they had seen about a thousand dolphins, however, the day we went we saw three sea loins, three dolphins and part of one whale. Not the best for seeing the animals but it was nice being out on the water, even if it was a little cloudy. After our boat excursion we had lunch and then headed to La Jolla for the rehearsal dinner. Since it was just the two of us we rented a convertible. It was not the warmest out, but we were determined to put the top down. We had to wear our sweaters, but it was fun. We also got sunburned. You would think at our ages we would know to put sunscreen on even when it is cloudy!

Horses

I am going to try to get caught up on some posts from the past few weeks. While we were in MI over Easter the girls wanted to go see Aunt Stacy's horses. Here are a few pictures of there visit. Kennedy just love horses!

I'm an Aunt

I am happy to say that I am finally an Aunt. My brother and his wife, Stacy have had their first baby. They welcomed their daughter Frankie Joy Eddy to the world on April 12 at 9:55pm. She weighted in at 7 lbs. 12 oz. and was 21 inches long. With both parents being red heads we were expecting a red head. However, she surprised us with brown hair. Stacy had brown also when she was born but it fell out and came back in red. We are all keeping our fingers crossed that Frankie's will also turn red. Stacy has always wanted a red headed girl.

Isn't she beautiful! Unfortunately I am sick right now and can't go to MI to visit them and meet my niece. We are hoping to go on Sunday for the day if I can keep the girls well and get better myself. I am sure I will have more pictures to post when I get back. My mom will want pictures of all four granddaughters.

Mixed Emotions

It is with mixed emotions that we head to California tomorrow. It will be just Greg and I for five days! We are looking forward to having that time to reconnect. Greg has been working a lot lately. However, this will be the first time I have left Mackenzie for this long. I will certainly miss her. Tonight as I tucked Kennedy into bed, she cried because she was already starting to miss us. We will definitely miss her too. Madison, well she can't wait to go the the Casali's. I am quite sure she will not miss us, but we will obviously miss her. By the way, thank you Tom and Pam for taking all of the girls so we can make this trip. We owe you! The girls are all looking forward to staying with them and I am sure they will be spoiled by the time we get home on Monday. In addition to this Greg and I are feeling like we should be two places at once. We are going to CA for his cousins wedding. We are really looking forward to it. We have not seen this cousin since our wedding 11 years ago. Way to long! However, we have a friend from our Fort Wilderness days whose three year old daughter passed away over the weekend. Anna bravely fought a form of childhood cancer for 13 months. Even though we have the assurance of seeing her again one day in Heaven, that does not make the pain any easier for her family. We wish we could be there to offer our support to our friends. So anyway, that is where we are right now.

Well, we have to drop the two younger girls off tomorrow around noon and I have lots to do yet. Greg is still at work so it looks like I will be packing for him again. I am beginning to think he does this on purpose. Hopefully I will have some beautiful sunny pictures to post next week.
